Messrs Williams and Kettle, Limited, report holding a special sale on Thursday for stock that were crowded out of their sale on tho2oth ult. Owing to the continued wot, the yarding of sheep was scarcely up to advertised numbers. Lidding for sheep was rather slacks and, though little business was done under the hammer, they succeeded in plaoing several lines after the sale. The yarding of cattle, which was not a large one, was much larger than expected. The demand was very keen, and resulted in all lots being cleared under the hammer at figures quite up to late sale rates. The firm quote Four and 6-tooth wethers, up to 9s 3d ; forward ewes, 7s : full-mouth empty ewes, 3s 6d to 4s Id. They offered a nice lino of 2-tooth Komney wethers, which scarcely made the owner’s reserve. Cattlo Calves, 25s to 48s ; yearling steers, 58s to 60s and 655; yearling heifers, £3 ; 2to 21-year steers, stores, £4 15s; do., for- ' ward, £5 ; 24-year heifers, in ealf, £4 15s. Their next sale will bo held on Wednesday, the 25th inst.
