RESIGNATION OF BISHOP OF AUCKLAND.

The Bishop of Auckland and the Primate of New Zealand intimated at a meeting of tho Standing Committee today that acting under the advice of two medical men, he had thought it his duty to forward tho resignation of his office as Bishop and Primate to the Bishop of Dunedin, the senior Bishop, who, according to Church law, is tho authority appointed to receivo any such resignation. Tho Primate has frequently Btated in the Diocesan Synod and elsewhere that when ho felt himself unablo to undertake the great amount of travelling in connection with his duties ho would resign. That tirno, in his opinion, had now come.
