(Per Press Association). WELLINGTON, last night. The Chief Justice gave the award of the Compensation Court to-day in the* case in which Captain Poplutm, livery stable keeper, claimed ±110,802 from the City Council for the loss or property and business occasioned by the Council taking the land for .streetwidening. The award of the Court gave claimant ±22510. LICENSE REFUSED. The Suburbs Licensing Committee unanimously refused to grant a new license at Newtown. TROOPSHIP. The troopship Manila, which arrived at Albany yesterday with 300 of the Seventh Regiment N.Z. Mounted Infantry on board, will call at llobarl and Sydney, and then come direct to Wellington.
