DUNEDIN HOTELS.
By Telegraph—Press Association.
Dunedin, last night.
At the annual meeting of the Licensing Bench very searching reports were submitted by the police. b Tbe Chairman (Mr GrahamfS.M.,) said that the Committee had gone through the report, and intonded to draw attention to any dilapidations, etc., complained of, and proposed m all cases where trouble was of sufficient importance to merely grant the license for three months, which means that unless matters are put right by then the license would lapse. In accordance with this decision licenses were only granted for three months to the Australasian, Duke of Edinburgh, Criterion, Farmers Arms, Prince of Wales, and Otago hotels. In most of the cases the want of proper fireescapes was the principal ground of coinplaint.
