LIBERALISM.
(To the Editor of the Times.)
Sir, —There is one thing that the gentleman who states that he is tho father of Liberalism can fairly claim to be the father of, and that is the most conservative Club in Poverty Bay. I have been a son of Liberalism for all these long .years, and now I have found my father. It is true wo came here about the same time, hut until now I never know our relationship. Let us see what tho Government has done for father. It has made him a J.F., it has placed him year after year on two or threo of our local Boards, and what has father done for the Government ? For on his own acknowledgement he has not voted for the Government for many years. I fear very much that father is not orthodox, and has wandered from tho faith, for he has never darkened the door of tho Liberal sanctuary since tfbmen wore admitted.—l am, etc., Daddy’s Son.
