The 8.8. Balmain, 837 tons (Captain W. Troop) arrived from Newcastle early yesterday morning, under charter to the Gas Company and Clayton Bros., with a cargo of 400 tons of coal, Tbo steamer was inspected by the tlealtb Officer, Dr. Williams, who.granted the vessel pratique after eight hours' fumigation had been made. Tho captain desires to have his vessel berthed at tho wharf, and inspected
the ohannel. His ship is drawing 10ft 6in aft and 10ft 2in forward, ana be feels certain of being able to navigate the channel. The Union Company’s s.s. Mararoa loft Auckland at 8 a.m. yesterday. She arrives early this morning. The last launoh leaves the wharf at 7 a.m. sharp southward. The s.s. Omaporo arrives from Napier this morning and leaves for Coast aud Auckland at 5 p.m. The Eiiogamito arrives from Southern ports on Sutnrday. The shipments by the Indradovi were as follows :—Messrs Williams and Ilettlo, Ltd. ; Wool, 003 bales greasy, 459 bales slipo, and 3 halos scoured ; 300 casks tallows, 82 packages casings, 78 cases meat extract, 9998 carcasos mutton, 472 carcases lamb, 1617 quarters beef, and 10,000 frozen pieces. Messrs Bennett and Sherratt : 24 bales greasy wool. Tho schooner Aotea (Captain Skinner) will leave Auckland for Gisborne on or about the 7th June. UNION STEAMSHIP COMPANY’S MOVEMENTS.
Thursday. —Mararoa arrives from Sydney and Auckland early, and leaves for South. First launch 6 a.m., last 7 a.m. Omapero arrives from Napier early, and leaves for Coast ports and Auckland. Last launoh, 5 p.m. ' Sunday, Bth June.—Tarawera arrives from Auckland during the afternoon, and leaves for South. Firßt launch on arrival ; last 5 p.m.
