BOWLING.
There was a large attendance at the Bowling Green yesterday afternoon, when tho following games wero played:— Scoro Humphries Lewis, skip ... 19 Robertson, skip 22 Martin Ilennessy Massey, skip ... 21 Ponsford, skip... 20 Williams Orr Gaudin, skip ... 25 Skeet, skip ... 6 Nicholas Harris Sidebottom, skip 28 Sirnson, skip ... 22 Matthewson J. Rosie McGowan, skip 28 Wallace,skip ... 8 Martin Hennessy Massey, skip ... 13 Ponsford, skip... 17 A great day’s bowling is being arranged for Tuesday next, Princo of Wales’ Birthday, for a very handsome shield presented by Mr J. A. Harding. It is proposed to make the contest an inter-club one, two games a side. The trophy is to be held for the term of one year by tho winning club, whose name will be engraved on a silver plate attached to the shield. Tho championship goldmedul presented by the Gisborne Times having been won by Mr Gaudin, that gentleman has presented a trophy, valued at T 3 Ss, to the club for competition.
