Tirea, Warwera, Frost, Royal Conqueror, Gobo, and several others are receiving support in doubles. The Guard, Gobo, Ostiak, Laureate, Frost, and Waiwera have arrived at Ellerslie. After the final payments, 41 remain in the North New Zealand Coursing Association Challenge Stakes, commencing on Saturday.

For tho double—Great Northern Steeplechase and Grand National Hurdle Raco—the two Cavolieros is quoted at 16 to 1. The two Waiweras, Cavalioro and Tirea, and the Guard and Tirea, are the other doubles most in favor with backers. By the s.s. Ngapuhi, which arrived today in the Manakau, the following horses were brought [up to fulfil their Ellerslie engagements :—The Guard, Gobo, Ostiak, Laureate, Waiwera, and Frost.
