TOLAGO BAY.

(Prom Our Own Correspon dent.) The fine weather experienced along the coast during the last few days has been much appreciated, and tho roads aro in good order. Tho Omapero arrived from Auckland with a good consignment of stores, which were very acceptable, as local stocks wore getting low. At tho station of Messrs Fitzgerald, Mangatekerau, this week a very successful social ' function was held, which was attended by a large number of visitors from all parts of the coast. Messrs Fitzgerald have had erected one of the largest wool-sheds in the district, and it was decided to open it with a ball. Invitations had been issued to a largo number of guests, and about thirty couples from all parts availed themselves of the invitation. The ballroom and supper-room were beautifully decorated with a profusion of nikau palms and tree ferns, etc., and presented a most pleasing appearance. Excellent music yvas supplied by Misses Broadbent, B. Spence, C. Spence, A. Spence (piano), and N. Spence (bagpipes). Songs wero contributed by Mr Orpwood and tho Glee Club. The floor was in excellent order and everything went off splendidly. Dan cing was kept up with vigor until 4 a.m. when the visitors departed, tho Tolagi Bay contingent arriving home befor breakfast. The dance was pronounce: by one and all to be one of the most en joyable hold in the district,
