SHOOTING MATCH.

BOWLERS Y. MOUNTED RIFLES.

An interesting rifle match was held at the Kaiti range yesterday afternoon between a team of bowlers and eight members of the East Coast Mounted Riflo Corps. The high wind which was raging made it very unpleasant for all concerned, and was particularly hard for the markers, the targets at times being blown in all directions. The bowlers were without the services of several of their best “ drivers,” and their efforts to “ draw ” on to the targets were not always successful. However, all things considered, they made a very decent stand, and in the aggregate score at the three rauges were only 45 behind their opponents. The following are the scores : Bowlers.

By way of a return match a game of . bowls is being arranged, and it is sugj gested that the bowlers should allow the ' shootists the services of'two skip?; If ’ this match eventuates it should attract a 1 crowd of spectators to the green.
