MAN FATALLY INJURED.

(By Telegraph—Press Association.) Timaru, last night. The Rev. R. Jackson was inducted as pastor of the new Presbyterian charge this afternoon in the presence of a large gathering. At a social in the evening there was an absolutely packed building. The proceedings were most hearty and successful. Mr Jackson’s evening’s speech was well received, and supported by other ministers.

A young man named Fred. Cross, belonging to Fairlie, was thrown from his horse on Wednesday night, and fractured the base of the skull. He never recovered consciousness, -and died this morning. *
