£Bjr Telegraph—Tress Association.] Wellington, last night. At the meeting of the New Zealand Bugby Union’s Management Committee •to-night, a telegram from the Secretary of the Governor stated that the latter thought a shield a better idea than the cup originally mentioned as a Banfurly trophy. The Committee expressed a like opinion. In reference to the direct application of a club to the New Zealand Union for the removal of the life disqualification of one of the club’s players, it was decided to reply that such applications must bo in the first place made by the local Union. It was resolved to write to the New South Wales Bugby Union, asking that body, while approaching the English Union further with regard to proposals made some time back for the • visit of an English team to Australia, to make a request that New Zealand be included in the tour.
