(Per Press Association.) WANGANUI, last night. The adjourned inquest into the civ eumstances concerning the death •>,

Samuel Tosland, who was found dead in bed op March 19th was nelcl to-day. The inquest was adjourned Irom Marco '2O. in order.that'the contents of the stomach might be. analysed. The G>-.-vernment analyst reported that the c was sufficient' strychnine to cause .death.. The. jury .returned a verdict, that deceased died, by, poisoning, hilt • there was. no .evidence .as to how administered....; An inquest-was .also held 'into the death of an old man - named Deiiis' Cronin, who died in the hospital from injuries received by a fall from a bridge at Kakariki stream. From the evidence it appeared that the man, who was crossing the bridge, lost his head at the sight of the train approaching, and either fell or jumped, a distance of 30 feet, to the bed of the river. He was taken to the Wa;ganui Hospital, where he died. A verdict of death from natural causes, accelerated by shock, was returne 1 'l’he engine-driver was exonerated from all blame.
