Tho Board of Education to day instructed their architect to insert a clause in all contracts requiring the contractor to produce an accident policy covering all men employed on the work, and enjoined the committees to do all repair work they undertake by contract. The Inspector drew attention to the curious fact that at the Geraldine and two adjacent schools the preparatory classes represented only 12 to 13 per cent, of the whole schools (38 to 295), while the proportion of the whole of South Canterbury was over 27 per cent.
