A Reform Society is trying to bring the various trades unions in Wellington into line, so as to present a solid front at the next general elections. A great deal of difficulty is being experienced in the matter, as a large section of the workers has got it firmly wedged into their minds that, judging by the company the Premier has been keeping of late, his democratic professions are not to be relied upon. A speaker at a meeting of the Reform ooeiety here indicated voiced an opinion generally held when he said, “ The whole of the Labor party, especially i a Wellington, is at sixes and sevens on politics. ' bo long as they remain in that position it means the Government of the day runs between each ' party and does nothing. There is too much of petty differences existing, and so long as they exist we will never make any progress."
