Later details show that Hill was clean bowled by a yorker. Gregory was in fifty minutes, Braund dismissing him with a nice catch in tho slips off a skyer when he attempted to hit to leg. Four wickets for 80. Darling was finely caught by Fry at mid off, off a hard drivo. When his score was 6, ho gave a hot chance to Murdoch at mid on off Llewellyn ; otherwise it was an excellent innings. He hit Llewellyn for three consecutive fours. Five wickets for 83. Trumper made ono, and at this stago play was stopped by tho rain.
When play wa3 resumed Armstrong accompanied Trumper to the wickets. Armstrong made a single, and Trumper was run out in trying to run a second. Six wickots for 99, Armstrong 8. Hopkin swas the next man. He played Graco on. Sevon for 102. Kolly joined Armstrong, who was stupidly run out, Jessop by a smart throw-in knocking down tho wicket. Eight for 112, Kelly 5. Howell followed, made 4, and then skied one, Grace taking an easy catch at point. Nine for 116. Saundors was the last man. He failed to score, Beldam dismissing him by an easy catch at short leg. Kelly carried out hi 3 bat for 5. Tho conditions improved considerably during tho latter stages of the i lay, the weather being fine. The wicket was not bad.
Noble secured two of tho County Club’s wickets beforo stumps were drawn. Grace played on to his pad, thence tho ball glanced on to the wicket. One wicket for 2, Fry 5. Beldam had the misfortune to get his leg before, the second wicket falling with the score at 15.
