Christchurch, last night. Some discussion has been caused hero by a report that a case of plague had been taken from Lyttelton to the Christchurch Hospital. The Hospital authorities refuse to keep the patient.

Dr Mason telegraphed to the Mayor that if a oase occurred in tho district an isolated house aDd propor treatment must be provided in the district. The Health Officer has arranged for tents at the smallpox reserve, but says that he cannot get the necessary attendance. He states, however, that the patient is suffering from plague.

The patient is still in the Hospital, and the City Council have appointed the Mayor and a Commission to attend to the matter.
