RIOTOUS OFFICERS

MEAT TRUST, The Chicago meat packers admit the consumption of beef declined forty per cent, since the agitation over the formation of the trust. BRITISH BAPTISTS. LONDON, May 2. British Baptists, for their twentieth century fund, have raised a quarter of a million.
FEDERAL CAPITAL, MELBOURNE, May 2. The Federal House has adjourned until the 27th to enable Ministers to inspect the various proposed sites for the Federal capital.
