London, April 30. Nino Boers who surrendered at Klerksdorp professed they were unaware of the peace negotiations. The Government estimate that tho cost of the war in South Africa to next March will total two hundred and twenty-two millions nine hundred and seven thousand pounds, and the war in China six millions ten thousand pounds. PROSPECTS OF PEACE. FINAL CONFERENCE TO BE HELD ON THE 25tu. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright London, May 1. The prospects of peace are considered to be favorable, but it is believed that matters in connection with the treatment of rebels is still an obstacle in the way of settlement in some quarters. Tho delegates are consulting the commandos in rotation. The final conference of delegates will be held at Vreenignig on the 25th, to discuss tha terms of surrender.
