(By Telegraph—Press Association.) Palmerston North, last night. ' There was a large attendance for the autumn meeting of the Manawatu Racing Club. The following were the results : Flying Handicap.—Shrapnel Shell 1, Torowai 2, Chasseur 3. Scratched : Livonia and Convoy. Won by half a length. Timo 1.18 3-5, divs. £7 16s and JE4 12s. First Hack Hurdles, —Katoa 1, Great Scotf 2, Lochade 3. All started. Won by half a length easily. Romney Lad fell. Time 3.30, divs. £2 18s and £1 7s. Cup.—ldeal 1, Motor 2, Kahuwai 3. All started. Won after a close finish by half a length. Time 2.44, divs. £5 Is and £2 18s. The Hurdles: Sudor 1, Dr Bill 2, Sylvanus 3. All started. Timo 3.56. Divs., £l7 6s and £2 18s. First Hack Flat Handicap : Anchorite 1, Dexterity 2,Turanganui 3. Scratched : Hard Work and Lifebelt. Time 1.34 3-5. Divs., £l9 16s and £2 7s. Borough Handicap.—lnspan 1, Floka 2, Oracle 3. Scratched : Queon’s Guard, Lady’s Link, Lady Bell, Mongonui. Time 1.46 1-5, divs. £lO 19s and 14s. Maiden Hack.—Lissa 1, Life Belt 2, Halcyon 3. Scratched: French Maid, Oudenarde, Ringdove, Red Shank, Yega Benedictine, Waimiri, Explorer, and Rebate. Timo 1.52, divs. £3 14s and 10s. " ‘A light shower fell towards the end of the' dSy, and this was - responsible for several scratchings in tho last race. The sum of £6283 was put through the totalisator.
