The average price to-day was: Canterbury 3 7-8 d ; Dunedin, Southland, and Wellington Meat Export Company, mutton, iQd ; other North Island mutton, 3 5-Bd. Lamb market weak. Shipments now arriving are very heavy. No alteration in lamb or beef since last week. Buyers of butter are holding back, expecting prices to go lower. Prices to-day are 105 s. Cheese is very firm at 565. Hemp is depressed at £36, nominally ; May to July shipments, £33. There is a better demand for coidcsfoot seed, New Zealand 171 b standard 475.”
