WELLINGTON RACES.*

The Autumn Meeting of the Wellington Racing Club was concluded to-day, in fine but cold weather. The attendance was good. Tho sum of £10,984 was passed through tho totalisator, making £20,487 for the meeting, which is £3044 more than last year. The results were Hutt Handicap.—Bowman 1, Floka 2, Crusoe 3. Also started : Abydos, Queen’s juard, Rebel, Aido-de-Camp, Tradewind, Uornea, Blackwing, and Valkyrie. Won comfortably by a neck, with three parts of a length between second and third. Time 1.44, divs. £3 11s and £1 7s. St. Leger Stakes.—Cruciform 1, la 2, Windwhistle 3. These were tho only starters. Won by twelve lengths, the same distance separating second and third. Time 3.8 3-0, div. £1 10s. Hack Welter Handicap.—North Star 1, Raema 2, Tho Guesser 3. Also started : Rebounding Lock, Wiitoa, Oudenarde, Frontier, Artisan, and Monument. Won by a length and a-half. Time 1.35, divs. £3 4s 6d and £1 12s.
Autumn Handicap.—Tortulla 1, Terrapin 2, Halberdier 3. Also started: Ideal, Glenaladale, Fakir, and Plaidie. Won by a head. Time 2.1£, divs. £2 15s and £3 19s 6d. ' Second Hurdle Handicap.—Stockade and Pukana (dead heat) 1, Right Metal 3. Also started : Hotu, Doctor Bill, Eucharis, and Rimu. Pukana led into the straight, but Stockade got up in the last stride, and made a dead heat of it. Time 2.56, divs. Stockade £3 ss, Pukana £5 2s.
Pacific Handicap.—Red Gauntlet 1, Ringlet 2, Float 3. Also started : Porirua, Torowai, Immersion, Battlecry, and Camelot. Won by a length and a-half. Time 1.17 1-5, divs. £2 12s and £4 7s. _ / Hack Flying Handicap.—Aldinga 1, En Garde 2, Heritas 3. Also started: Wehenga, Liquidator, French Maid, Languid, and Monument. The race gave a close finish. En Garde appeared to win by half a head. Time 1.19, divs. £8 7s and 19s.
Suburban Handicap.—-West-guard 1, Qkoari 2, Shrapnel Shell 3. Also started : Cannio Chiel, Halberdier, Ostiak, Jabber, Rebel, Canteen, Hinetaura, Pure Silver, and Sentry. Won by half a neck. Time 1.30 1-5, divs. £ll 19s and £2 3s.
