The box-plan for the forthcoming season of the ‘ Pollards ” opened on Baturday morning at Miller’s, and already a large number of seats have been booked. Apart from the fact that Mr Pollard will introduce to us two comic operas new to Gisborne, viz “ R ose 0 f Persia ” and • * i f e . ncb °l e i much speculation and interest is sure to be arouse! on this occasion by the inclusion in the cast o; some new artjstes. Miss Connie Buttel is an Australian young-lady, who scored a distinct success as the Sultana in the Rose of Persia ” during the Christchurch and Auckland productions of that opera: She has a voice of rare quality, and having a fine stage presence, is sure to become popular. Miss Nina Osborne will also be found in principal roles in Rose of Persia ” and “La Perichole.” This young lady is a sister of Miss Ida Osborne, for so many years a member of Williamson s Opera Company. Most of the old and popular members, such as Messrs Percy, Stephens, Quealy, Carter, ° 9,' ? nn °s., and Misses Gertie Campion. Nelhe Wilson, Alice Pollard, Mollie O Sullivan, Rosie Evesson, and others, are still with the company, so that the forthcoming season should provo gy@n more successful than previously,
