POLLARD’S OPERA COMPANY.
There has been no class of entertainers in the colony who have won popular approval us consistently as tho combination Mr Tom Pollard has delighted so many audiences with, and the very fact of a performance being announced is sufficient to attract all threatre-goers who delight in good music, tuneful singing, finished acting, charming dancing, appropriate costumes, novel stage effects, and perfect stage management. “ Florodoru ” met with so much approval when produced here on a previous occasion that it is sure to again prove a strong attraction, especially as new principals will be found in the parts of Dolores and Lady Hoiyrood. “ The Rose of Persia ” is a comic opera by Hood and Sullivan, and the costumes and properties used in the production of this piece were imported from England by Mr J. C. Williamson at great expense. “ La Perichole ” is an opera which has met. with marked success wherever staged ; one of its special features being a grand military march by tho full strength of the company. “La Mascotte,” to be produced on the last night, is an old 1 friend, but a very popular one, and as it is very many years since Gisborne theatrei<oers’had an opportunity of seeing tnis delightful opera, a successful reviva should be the result.
' As previously announced, the season commences on next Wednesday evening, the plan being open for inspection at Miller’s this morning.
