A BIG SALARY,

(Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, last night. The Wellington Harbor Board has resolved to raise the salary of its secretary and Engineer, Mr W. Ferguson, from £IOOO to £1750 per-annum, and to enter ‘into an undertaking to retain his services for five years. Mr Ferguson lately received an offer of - appointment at more than the latter figure. RELIEF FUND, On March 31 the Kaitangata relief fund showed a credit of £3251, During the year £432 was paid to sixteen beneficiaries, INEBRIATES’ INSTITUTIONS, Regulations under the Inebriates’ Institutions Act are gazetted. Buildings at North Harbor and Blueskin are to be institutions within the meaning of the Act,
