Eight hours work, eight hours play, Eight hours sleep, eight hob a day, Thus the ancient couplet ran ;
But yet, alas, ’twas only man Who thus was blest, his patient wife Wrought sixteen hours each day o life, Bereft of hope.
But, 10, a change is looming o’er th scene, Full soon beside her lord she'll star, serene.
