Mr Barron, Land Purchase Commissioner, and Mr A. Reece, a member of the Wellington Land Board, are at present in this district inspecting properties offered to the Government for closer settlement under the Lands for Settlement Act. At the annual meeting to-night tne parishioners of All Saints Church instructed their Bynodsmen to support any motion ooming before tho synod to effect the placing of ladies of the congregation on an electoral equality with male members.
