CRIMES IN IRELAND.

Mr Wyndham replied that the Gx'cut'ive were determined to grapple with the boycotting, which was persistently increasing, filling the people with brooding apprehension. THE LOAN. The Times states that the loan has already been subscribed fifteen-fold, and is quoted at a premium of threequarters. WILHELMINA’S HEALTH. HAGUE, April 18, Queen Wilhelmina is still feverish. There is much anxiety, though it is hoped the crisis has passed. THE DRAYTON GRANGE. SYDNEY, April 18, The Drayton Grange is expected early in the morning. THE PLAGUE. For two days past there have Been no fresh cases of plague. FEDERAL TARIFF. 'Fhe Tariff Committee finished its work this afternoon. A large number of re-committed items were dealt with. The duty on engines and boilers, pumps, and machinery not elsewhere included, was reduced to fifteen per centum, and on salt to 12s fid. Scrap iron and steel were added to the exemption list. Mr Kingston congratulated the House that the tariff was finished, and thanked members for their assistance. Mr Baddon added congratulations. The resolutions were reported, and the tariff went out. Mr Kingston, in the Federal House,moving the second reading of the Customs Tariff Bill, said that- the embodied schedule over which the Committee have spent so much time, validated the duties collected up to the present. It contained provision dealing with trusts, combines, and rings, based on the Canadian law.
