ENDEAVORS TO TAKE HIS OWN LIFE. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Melbourne, April 14. McNamara has been hanged in Melbourne gaol for the murder of his son through the burning of his dwelling-house. He attempted to murder himself by dashing his head against the bars of his cell after breakfast this morning, and succeeded in inflicting a gash in his head. He declared his innocenco on the scaffold. Death was instantaneous.
