FRESH TROOPS FOR THE FRONT. THE KLERKSDORP CONFERENCE. BOER DELEGATES TO AIEET KRUGER AT UTRECHT.

The War Office announced that a thousand Guards inspected yesterday constitutes the first instalment of the fresh force proceeding to South Africa for the winter campaign ; further that more are following, starting next week : Infantry drafts of seven thousand ; artillery, a thousand ; yeomanry, seven thousand ; colonials, five thousand. Transport arrangements have been completed for the last militia sent in 1901 to be withdrawn before Alay. The newspapers are empbaising the importance of the confcreneuce of Boer leaders at Klerksdorp, that Great Britain’s preparations should not be relaxed, and that there should be in readiness to prosecute the campaign with increased vigor.
The Cabinet has been specially summoned for to-day. Eighteen Boers have been captured westward of Klerksdorp.
Wolmaarans and Wessols confer with Kruger at Utrecht. Dr Leyds declares that peace is impossible until the European delegates are consulted. Since December 12th a thousand natives have arrived at the Rand.
