THE MEAT TRADE.

The War Office is inviting tenders for nine hundred thousand pounds of corned and compressed beef, and three hundred thousand pounds corned mutton. Tenders close on May 26th. The American Beef Trust is limiting the export of live cattle, hoping to increase prices in England.
