ADDINGTON MARKET.

IMPROVED PRICES. By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, last night. The Addington sales took place today :

Fat cattle: 157, mostly good sorts, were yarded, and a rise of 10s to 12s por head was obtained. Beef sold at 19s to 245, and up to 26s for extra quality. Prime heavy steers brought £9 to £ll 12s 6d ; others, £6 to £8 10s. Prime heifers, £8 17s 6d to £9 17s 6d; othors, £5 15s to £B. Prime cows, £8 10s to £9 15s,- othors, £5 2s 6d to £B.

Fat sheep: About 400 were yarded, including more wethers than usual. Buyers for export competed keenly, and were also buying good owes, which rose Is to Is 6d. Prime wethers sold at 15s 6d to 17s 6d ; lighter, 13s 6d to 15s. Primo ewes, 15s 7d to 16s lid ; good, 12s 6d to 15s ; others, 9s 6d to 12s.

Fat lambs: 880 were yarded, mostly of good quality, and there was a rise of 6d to 9d. Six hundred wero bought for export at 10s 6d to 14s, averaging 12s 9d; 200 went to butchers at 8s 9d to 13s Bd.

Store sheep : 16,000 wero yarded, mostly from Nelson, and there was a good sale for all sorts, especially for forward wethers and young ewes. Forward wethers brought 12s to 13s 7d; mediums, 10s 9d to 11s 9d ; backward and small, 8s to 10s 3d. Good young ewes went from 12s 9d to 13s Id ; fair sorts, 9s 2d to 10s 6d ; aged, 6s 6d to 8s Id. Forward lambs, 7s 8d to 8s 5d j backward, 6s 6d f.Q 8s Id ; Bhorn, 4s.

Pigs : 560 were yarded, including some good fats, and there was an improved sale for these, porkers being scarce. Large stores were brought up by Southern buyers, but little pigs were unsaleable. Baconers realised 30s to 47s 6d, or 3d to 3] 1 by weight ; porkers 24s to 31s, or B}d to 4d. Strong stores brought 22s to 235.
