A BAD FAMILY.

SIGNS OF A DESPERATE ENCOUNTER. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Brisbane, April 4. The Kenneths, or Kenifs, formerly leased a thousand acres of Carnarvon Station. They accumulated a herd of a thousand cattle, by alleged crooked means. Whon Dalke became manager of Carnarvon Station he cleared them out. They settled at Meteor Downs Station. They wore several times before the Court for horse stealing and faking Brands. Last month they were fined £4O for travelling stock without a permit. This maddened them. They decided to take to the road, and threatened vengeanee. They raided Merivale Station, stuck up a Chinaman and contractor. A black tracker states that Dalke and Doyle met the three Kennifs. He caught one after a chase. The others returned, and opened fire. He saw Dalke fall from his horse. The tracker galloped off, the Kennifs pursuing him. He returned when they had gone, and found blood and signs of a desperate encounter.
