FUNERAL OF SIR ANDREW CLARKE.
By telegraph—Press Association — Copyright. LONDON, April 4. There was a great gathering of soldiers and colonists at the memorial service in connection with the deatli of Si; Andrew Clarke. The service took place at tlie Marylebone Church, those present including all the Agents-Gene-rai. A gun carriage bore the body to Paddington station, en route to Bath, where it was interred. The AgentsGmeral and all the Australian Governments sent wreaths.
Some discussion took place at the meeting of the Liberal Association in lepard to the question of a clock for the post-office tower, but ii was deckled to allow the matter to stand over until the annual meeting, which is to be held on the 25th inst.
SYDNEY, April 4. The breadstufts market is strong and advancing. Flour is quoted at £8 15s, and wheat at 3s IOAd, but sellers refused to part with a large parcel. Holders want 4s. BORROWING EXPEDIENT. BRISBANE, April 4. Government is issuing 530,000 four per cent, treasury bills at 102.

The funeral of the late Mr Cecil Rhodes cvojted unparalleled manifestations of grief at Capetown. Troops lined the route to the Cathedral. Along the route dense crowds gathered. Dr. Jameson and the Premier (Sir Gordon Spriggs) were present. Included among the pail-bearers were Mr Rhodes’ brothers and representatives. Lord Milner and Sir Heley Hutchinson were amongst the mourners.
The procession included all the leading public men in South Africa, many members of the Afrikaader Bond, and members of the Afrikander Bond, and Tasmania.
The Archbishop of Capetown, in his address at the Cathedral, recognised ..Rhodes’ greatness. Three thousand natives lined the route to the grave at Matoppo Hill. The Indimas lament the loss of a great father.
