OUR NAVY.

The splendid entertainment “ Our Navy,” which will be shown at the Theatre Koyal during Easter week, has the proud distinction of being the only biograph ever shown before the lato Majesty Queen Victoria- bo great was the success of “ Our Navy at tho Polytechnic that a special command was sent to the proprietor, Mr A. J. West, for I a performance at Windsor Castle. At the i conclusion of the entertainment the late Majesty personally complimented Mr West on the excellence of the pictures. “ Our Navy ” during its phenomenal run of three years in Condon was patronised by the Lords of the Admiralty, the Admirals of the Fleet, tho Light Honorable Lord Brasse.y, the Earl of Carring, ton, and the Earl of Kintore. On June 3rd, 1901, the entertainment was given by command at Government House, Sydney, bofore their Eoyal Highnesses the Prince and Princess of Wales, Lord and Lady Hopetoun, and a largo party of distinguished guests. During the season in Sydney and Melbourne, “ Our Navy created quite a furore, 400,000 paid to witeess the entertainmont iD these two cities alone. The Sydney Morning Herald says : —“ 1 Our Navy ’ consists of living pictures of beauty and variety as yot unequalled in this quarter of the Globe.” The Melbourne Argus :—“ The entire performance conveyed a very vivid impression of tho tremendous power of war. The torpedoes leaped into the water like enormous fish. From an instructive point of view it is tho most attractive and fascinating entertainment seen in Melbourne.” Tho Otago Times :—“ Tho whole entertainment is delightful. It is wholesome, attractive, and educational.” During “ Our Navy’s ” recent season at the Opera House, Auckland, the Theatre was packed every night, so great was the sensation created by the pictures. The box-plan will be opened on Saturday at Miller’s.
