SHALL-POX SCARE.
(By Telegraph—Press Association.) Wellington, last night. It is now definitely declared that the lady passenger removed from the Monowai on Saturday is suffering from German measles, and not small-pox, as was suspected.
A further investigation has satisfied the health authorities that the lady passenger landed from the Monowai on Saturday is
not suffering from small-pox, but only from a form of blood poisoning, and that there is no danger to the public. The patient is still in the plague hospital, but will be removed as soon as convenient.
