WAIPIRO BALL.

Tho Waipiro ball, which all look for--1 ward to with delight, was held in the ' spacious Waipiro woolshed, which was beautifully decorated. A splendid supper was provided oy Mr Chas. Butler. Excellent music was provided by Messrs A. B. Williamß (piano), A. M. Beale (’cello), A. Davis (cornet), A. E. Cowley, A. Neil, and C. Davis (violins). About seventy couples occupied the floor, and dancing was spiritedly kept up until 4 o’clock on Saturday morning. Messrs Swinnerton arid Edgar Wallis were the M.C.’s. Amongst the ladies present were : Mrs L. E. Cotterill, cream lustre, trimmed with white lace ; Mrs O’Ryan, mauve silk ; Mrs Sherwood, black silk lustre ; Miss Wallis, black dress with rod flowers; Miss K. Williams, black; Miss Eva Williams, white; Miss Eva Clark (Gisborne), dark silk, white silk blouse; Miss Kettiewell, black velvet skirt, pink silk blouse, black sleeves; Miss Kemp (Tolago), black; Miss Adenill, very handsome white dress; Miss Prior, Tolago, very pretty yellow satin, trimmed with black ; Miss Hartley, green, trimmed with pink chiffon; Miss Orr,' very handsome green silk, with white lace; Miss Walworth, stone grey, with white chiffon sleeves ; Mrs Cowley, pretty grey dress, trimmed with white; Miss McGavin, cream dress, with red poppies; Miss Winnie McGavin, cream, trimmed with blue silk; Miss Doris McGavin, blue dress, trimmed with white chiffon; Miss White, dark skirt, white blouse; Mrs Napier, pretty white dress, trimmed with white lace.
