STOCK SALE.
Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report that _they held their usual monthly sale of stock at the Makaraka yards yesterday, when there was a good entry of all classes of stock. Sheep : The entry consisted principally of wethers and cull ewes, which sold fairly well under the hammer, 2 ' and -1-tooth wethers making 8s 6d and 8s Bd, and full-mouth ewes 3s 4d to 3s Bd. Cattle : We offered about 300 head, and although the bidding was slack, we sold all except two lines at satisfactory prices' The following prices were realised Bto 12 month calves, 35s to -10 s ; 12 to IS month calves, 50s to 55s ; 18 to 2-1 month steers, 60s to 82s Gd ; 2 to 3 year steers, £-1 10s ; 3 year bullocks, £5 17s Gd. Run cows (in calf), £4 to £5. A nice line of Polled Angus cows made £5 ss, and a Polled Angus bull £Sf ; A Hereford bull sold for £-1 2s Gd. Heifers springing, £4 10s to £7 ; Ij to 24 month heifers G6s; fat cows, light, £5 Pigs : Four months porkers sold at 16s 6d. ■ Our next sale will be held on Thursday, 24th April, 1902.
