POLO TOURNAMENT.

By Telegraph—Press Association. Palmerston North, last night. Tho Polo Tournament was continued to-day in fine weather. The match for the Saville Cup, between Hawera 'and Rangitikei, was the chief game of the afternoon. Tho teams were : Rangitikei: N. Wilson, R. Wilson, H. Wilson, and Keillen. Hawera: Atkinson, Buchanan, Moore, and Tonks. The cupwinners last year proved altogether too good for their younger opponents, but the latter played very gamely throughout. In the first spell Rangitikei scored five goals, and despite the good stand made by Moore and Tonks, ultimately compiled a score of eleven goals, of. which the brothers R. and H. Wilson contributed eight. Hawera managed to score three goals during tho game, Tonks contributing one and Buchanan two. Tonks and Moore played a sterling game. Buchanan and N. Wilson had each a pony severely injured during the match. On their play to-day it is considered that Hawera will have a good chance of winning the Handicap Cup, in which they have seven goals handicap. In the second game of the handicap cup contest Manawatu No. 4 scored six goals to tbeir opponents’ three. To morrow Hawke’s Bay meet Manawatu No. 1, and an exciting game is anticipated.

AUCKLAND NEWS.

DR, WOHLMANN. (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, last night. The Premier has received the following cablegram from the AgentGeneral “ Have selected for appointment as balnealogist, Arthur Stanley Wohlmann, M.D., of a London family of Englishmen of 200 years’ standing, ding. THE PREMIER. The Premier went to Cambridge today, where he was entertained at luncheon, and he afterwards addressed an open-air meeting in the Cambridge domain. There was a great crowd present. In the evening Mr Seddon came back to Hamilton, where he was entertained at a banquet. The Hons. Duncan and McGowan are accompanying Mr Seddon. ARAWA’S CONGRATULATIONS. The received to-day a message from tlie Arawa Natives, regretting that they could not farewell him tribally, hut offering him their congratulations, and requesting him to offer their congratulations to the King.
