FAREWELL TO PREMIER.

[By Telegraph—Preßs Association]

Auckland, last night. The Premier was farewelled this evening at a great open-air demonstration. The Mayor presided, and referred in eloquent terms to Mr Seddon’s services to the Empire. A testimonial was presented expressing high appreciation of Mr Seddon’s great work for the Empire in the despatch of contingents. The Premier, who was loudly applauded, made a vigorous patriotic speech, dealing with the origin of the war, and said that it could only have one ending--South Africa must become part of the Empire.
