ENGLISHMEN v. SOUTH AUSTRALIA. HILL COMPLETES HIS THOUSAND RUNS. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright
Adelaide, March 17.
The weather was fine and the wicket good to-day. The chief interest of the day’s play centred in Hill, speculation running high as to whether he would secure the 26 necessary to complete his thousand runs. With 28 to Lis credit he gave Lilley a hard chance off Brauud, but the break beat the wicket-keeper. Hill, was loudly cheered as, with a drive to the' boundary, he brought the thousand. Up to this point he played cautiously, but afterwards he made things merry, and his score included six fourers. Giffen treated the spectators to some of his old form. Claxton played confident, slashing cricket. The following are the scores :
