In further reply to the Premier re Kawhia lands, Mr Upton, Chairrfian ot the Chamber of Commerce, says there has been no new discovery of mineiAls on these lands. What is now knov 1 has been long known to the Surveyor-C floral. Mr Upton also said he had been tro filling through the rich lands of the Nor, j, and was deeply itfipressed with the fact j this large district facing practically shut ip by two obstructive owners, namely, Government and the Natives. '
