Stockman, who won the Thames Steeplechase, is used in harness, and was being driven about up to within a few days of the meeting, as also was ■Kapai, who finished second. Mr Dan O’Brien has been racing hoses in. New Zealand since 18G8, but, never ran one at Wanganui until last week, and on that occasion attended his first meeting on the Wanganui course.
