RAM SALE.
By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, last night. The ram and ewe fair was concluded at a l at p hour to-day. The balance of the English Leicester flock rams sold very badly, showing no improvement, and the bulk were passed. There was no sale for Merinos or Border Leicestc-rs. Southdowns sold fairly well up to 13 guineas. The only demand for studs was for English Leicesters, the bulk ot which Brought from 5 guineas to 15 guineas ; a few°of Mr J. Little’s, from Allandale, making from 3 guineas to 57 guineas. °
The entries for the Canterbury ram and ewe fair totalled 3692, as against 4308 last year. There was a considerable increase in English and Border Leicesters, and a faffing off in Shropshires and Southdowns. The following shows the entries of the different breeds in comparison with last year :
