OUR SOLDIERS.

By Telegraph—Press Association,

Dunedin, last night. The Premier says the statement is incorrect that the departure of the North Island Battalion will be postponed till the 22nd.

The command of the Ninth has been offered to Colonel Porter, with Majors Abbott and Beauchop as next in command. In the event of Colonel Porter’s non-acceptance, Major Abbott will be first in command, Major Beauchop second, and Captain Jackson third. The Kent and Devon will probably call at Durban for orders.
