SEND-OFF PREPARATIONS.

By Telegraph—-Press Association. Auckland, last night. The Ninth Contingent Send-off Committeo has made final arrangements for the Auckland farewell. The troopers are to be entertained at a luncheon, and march to the steamer, An aquatic display similar to that at the farewell of the Eighth Contingent will be made. The funds collected for the send-off amount to over £3OO. If a surplus remains after meeting expenses, it will be used to form the nucleus of a fund for tho purpose of a memorial to colonials who have fallen in South Africa.
