THE DAIRY INDUSTRY.

PROPRIETORY v. CO-OPERATIVE

(To the Editor of the Times). Sin,—l have been watching tho satisfactory growth of this industry during the past fow years, and read with interest the report of the meeting at Mr McGregor s factory last Friday night. Mr McGregor llas rnn ms snow sansracwiiD, «**>» is room for further factories. I would suggest the milk suppliers on Mr McGregor’s side of tho big river to stick to Mr McGregor and support his factory on the present lines for another year. Let the Patutahi people on their side of the river start a co-operative factory and try the results of friendly competition. In competition alone will milk suppliers get satisfaction. There is plenty of room for more factories in this fat district, and with capable management, which is as essential as dairying, I anticipate a very large increase in thi3 important industry. I am, etc., Onlooker.
