TESTIMONIAL TO PREMIER.
OVER £2OO COLLECTED IN AUCKLAND. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, last night. At a meeting to night it was decided that the farewell to the Premier should take place on March 19th, after the departure of tlie Ninth Contingent. The farewell address is to be presented at an open-ail* meeting, and the subscriptions eolleoted will go to the national fund, and will be sent to Christchurch. Mr Arthur Myers stated that as a result of a canvass amongst a few friends ho had collected oho sum of .6*210. The Town Clerk reported having received £2O.
MEETING IN CHRISTCHURCH.

Oh; "...'church, last night. At a well-attended meeting of the Beddon Memorial Committee a letter was read from the Wellington < xecutive suggesting that the Christchurch committee should act as a central committee, as it was thought that the whole concern should be centralised in Cbristcuurch. A draft of the address suggested uy tho Wellington committee was forwarded with the suggestion that as far as possible it should bo adopted throughout tho colony, and that signatures should bo obtained from all quarters and bound up in the same book album with tho address. The address, which it was stated hud already been adopted by Wellington, Auckland, and other places in tho North Island, was accepted by tho Christchurch committee. Mill. W. Uru wrote stating that arrangements wore being made to obtain subscriptions from all the Maoris in tho South Island, tbe money to be sent to Itaipohia Pa. The intention was that the Maoris should join in tho presentution to the Premier when he was in Christchurch.
