INTIMIDATION WITH REVOLVERS

Mounted men, disguised, fired revolvers at the windows of a house occupied by Mrs Melnerney, near Kilrush. A patrol appeared, and demanded surrender. They fired on the moonlighters, who escaped. Two young farmers, named Crowley and Eustace, have been arrested on suspicion.
Melnerney had purchased hay from a farmer named Cunningham, who was censured by the League for occupying an evicted farm.
