Tolago Bay Tennis Tournament.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) The first handicap tournament in connection with the above club took place on Saturday, and was a great success. Mr Robert Baxendell was hamlicapper, and the handicaps were rather difticult to adjust, there being no data to rely on but practice play ; therefore the close contests in the final rounds must have been very gratifying to that gentleman. The final results were Mr Oldfield, scr, oOI; Mr Revnolds, receives 10, 46; Miss A. Gallagher, receives 27, 50 ; Mr Morris, received 10. IS ; Miss Broadhurst, received 14, 50 ; Mr Oldfield, scr, 49 ; the final' between the only two ladies in the tournament resulting, Miss Broadbent' 50, Miss A. Gallagher 48, the first-named winning the prize. A large crowd of spectators assembled, and groat interest was taken in the proceedings. Afternoon tea was very kindly dispensed by the Tolago ladies, and altogether the function was a great success.
